Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Course
Course Description
World language educators customize their professional growth and enhance their repertoire of theoretical knowledge, networking, and practice by selecting 15 hours of sessions offered by MFLA-Maryland. New and experienced educators self-reflect on the professional learning experiences, engage in discussion with colleagues, and design instruction that aligns to State and National Standards.
The percentage of synchronous content in this proposed CPD Course: 80% (Meetings, Conferences, Webinars, Virtual Learning Sessions)
The percentage of asynchronous content in this proposed CPD Course: 20% (Teacher reflection and practical application; completion of the learning log.

Outcomes
1) Participants will collaboratively discuss instructional materials such as communicative activities, learning seeds, lessons, and/ or world language curricula. (Discussions can take place in the target language).
2) Participants will collaboratively assess instructional materials, activities and lessons to evaluate alignment to National Standards of Communication, Cultures, Connection, Comparisons, Communities
3) Participants will collaboratively design/re-design instructional materials, activities and lessons to evaluate alignment to National Standards of Communication, Cultures, Connection, Comparisons, Communities.

How will the course be evaluated?
15 hours will be evaluated through the completion of a running learning log.
These logs will be turned in through via a Google Form and Google Drive File Upload process in which the participant will submit each learning log reflection following the professional learning experience in which they participated.
